Commonfolk aims to amplify the voices of the common American citizen by providing an opportunity for discourse on issues that matter most. We believe the best path for our future is to provide our elected officials with complete transparency to the voices of the people they govern. These guidelines ensure that users are given the confidence and safety to vocalize their ideas, opinions, and feedback.
AGREEMENT
By creating an account and logging onto the community, you are considered to be in agreement with these Community Guidelines. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “Last updated” date of these Community Guidelines, and you waive any right to receive specific notice of each such change. It is your responsibility to periodically review these Community Guidelines to stay informed of updates. You will be subject to, and will be deemed to have been made aware of and to have accepted, the changes in any revisions by your continued use of the Site after the date such revised Community Guidelines are posted.
USER SAFETY
Hateful Speech: The First Amendment to the United States Constitution does not apply to private companies such as Commonfolk. However, we do promote expression. This does not include hateful speech of any kind. Deliberate hateful conduct against various religions, races, ages, disabilities, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and genders will not be tolerated.
Violence: Any violence or threats are prohibited in all forms. These include any personal threats or attacks by users towards others and extends to non-users as well.
Impersonation: You may not impersonate individuals, groups, or organizations in a manner that is intended to or does mislead, confuse, or deceive others.
Extremism/terrorism: You may not promote acts of violent extremism or terrorism.
Harassment: All forms of harassment are prohibited.
Self-Harm: Promotion of self-harm or harm towards others is prohibited.
Adult content: You may not share adult content on the Site.
Advertisements: You may not use the Site to advertise or offer to sell goods and services unless you have received our consent.
Spam: Any actions that interfere with any party’s uninterrupted use and enjoyment of the Site or modifies, impairs, disrupts, alters, or interferes with the use, features, functions, operation, or maintenance of the Site are prohibited.
Intellectual Property: You may not infringe on the proprietary rights, including but not limited to the copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, or moral rights of any third party.
In general, follow the Golden Rule. “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them.” We also encourage you to review our Terms of Service.
USER REPRESENTATION AND PRIVACY
Authenticity: All registration information you submit must be true, accurate, current, and complete. You will maintain the accuracy of such information and promptly update such registration information as necessary. If you provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current, or incomplete, we have the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any and all current or future use of the Site (or any portion thereof).
Private information: You may not share other people’s private information unless you have received their proper consent and permission to do so.
Child Privacy: We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use information from or market to children under the age of 13. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 13 in violation of our Privacy Policy, please contact us using the information provided below.
